Sherri Elliott
Sherri Elliott is an American scriptwriter and published author from St. Louis, Missouri. As a loving mother of three, Sherri has worked hard to cultivate an environment of creative energy around herself and her children. Her passion for writing began with poetry in her early years, eventually leading her to write songs and drive her career in the Hip-Hop industry forward. Although her musical career ended after the birth of her first child, Sherri used this new stage of her life to push her writing further. In the 2000s, she worked on her first novel, “They Call Her Mrs. Beautiful,” exploring the era of civil rights and segregation while studying the effects of interracial relationships and teen pregnancy on a young black girl in the 1960s rural South.
With a transformed passion for storytelling and an urge for change, Sherri moved her two older children and newborn to Houston, Texas. This location change brought new goals and opportunities for a brighter future. While pursuing a degree in web design, Sherri continued working on her novel and supporting her children. She began exploring new genres, including the dramatic story of “Iesha” and the fantasy-filled world of “The Delequiox Women.” During this time, Sherri wrote and directed a short film called “Maybe I Do, Maybe I Don’t,” which she posted on YouTube. This experience solidified her love for screenwriting, and in 2015, she participated in the Houston Film Festival.
In 2020, Sherri published her first children’s book, “When Uni Met Cornelia,” the first in her Uni and Cornelia series. She released the second book, “Cornelia’s First Day of School,” in 2024.
With several movie scripts completed and a new book series in tow, Sherri is ready to take on writing as a full-time job and share her talents with the world.
